Disaster VolunteersHistoryThe state of Nebraska along with two Nebraska Health Districts, Public Health Solutions and Southeast District health, has contracted with Region V Systems to compile a database of disaster responders who could be called upon in the event of a disaster occurring in southeast Nebraska. Region V includes a 16 county area which volunteers are being recruited for within southeast Nebraska.If you would like to be a disaster volunteer, please click on the "Sign-up" item under the Disaster Volunteer menu bar. Training for Disaster VolunteersRegion V Systems is committed to having trained volunteers ready to assist survivors in the event of a disaster. It is critical that all volunteers are prepared and properly trained in order to prevent further trauma to disaster survivors. For this reason we will be providing trainings periodically throughout the year.This year Region V Systems will provide Psychological First Aid Training and the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Training, free of charge.
